Frogfoot is looking for a Product Analyst to join the Product Team Department.

Purpose of the Role

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys digging into data, uncovering patterns, understanding customer behaviours, and translating insights into smart product decisions. As a Product Analyst, you will evaluate, analyse, and enhance Frogfoot’s product offering by gathering and interpreting data, conducting market and competitor research, and partnering with cross-functional teams. If you love analysing markets, solving problems, and helping shape products that connect South Africa through fibre, this role offers the opportunity to directly influence strategic decisions and drive meaningful product innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Coordination

  • Plan and prioritise tasks, schedules, resources, and project activities.
  • Anticipate problems and adjust plans when circumstances change.
  • Prepare project specifications, short-term objectives, and basic budgets.
  • Coordinate activities across teams to ensure smooth operations.

Process Control, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure work meets legal, safety, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Implement procedures, monitor adherence to standards, and request corrections when needed.

Monitoring, Reviewing & Reporting

  • Track progress against goals and schedules.
  • Review data, reports, processes, and operations to assess efficiency and identify improvements.
  • Provide updates and written or verbal reports to relevant stakeholders.

Coaching, Support & Team Engagement

  • Support team members through guidance, informal training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Motivate the team, build positive relationships, and encourage collaboration.
  • Help maintain discipline and resolve minor disputes professionally.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Liaise with colleagues at all levels and work across departments.
  • Provide clear instructions, respond to enquiries, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Present information, explain procedures, and brief individuals or groups.

Investigation & Information Gathering

  • Ask questions, collect data, and validate information.
  • Observe operations, review documents, and identify issues or risks.
  • Refer to manuals, diagrams, and technical sources when needed.

  • Capture and maintain accurate records (manual or digital).

Clerical & Technical Tasks

  • Handle routine admin: forms, appointments, mail sorting, and record keeping.

What You’ll Need to Know

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Economics, General Business, and or related field study.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in product analysis, market research, or a related field in the fibre optics or telecommunications industry.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of work experience to support well-developed skills in market analysis, segmentation/targeting/ positioning, product strategy, pricing, promotion, and distribution strategy and tactics.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python, and data analysis techniques.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of work experience with business intelligence and analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge in:
    • Fiber optic product development and manufacturing processes.
    • Understanding of Fibre Optic network design and implementation.
    • Google Earth, ESRI, GeoTerra, Related Geo Mapping / Planning software.
    • Networking protocols & design (emphasis on Layers 1, 2, and 3).
    • Internet technologies, functionality, and services.
